Great for small spaces, this folding bench mounts to a wall and folds down when needed.

Materials

Tools

  • Drill/driver

  • Circular saw

  • Stud finder

  • Clamps

  • Wrench

Steps

  1. Frame the Wall Mount

    • Cut 2x4 to 48” and two uprights at 32”.

    • Screw together and lag into wall studs.

  2. Build the Work Surface

    • Cut plywood to 24” x 48”.

    • Attach piano hinge to back edge.

  3. Install Folding Brackets

    • Mount to underside and wall frame.

    • Test for level and strength.

  4. Fold & Finish

    • Add a catch to hold folded bench.

    • Apply polyurethane or oil for durability.
